Back in May of 2020, I was trying to make these radical changes to my life because I wanted to redefine myself and my image. This led me to making huge 0to100 adjustments to my life. These huge changes I made to my life actually helped me achieve a lot of great successes. I lost weight, I ran a half-marathon, I read more and even got better at song writing and learning. That said, the changes I made to my life were so dramatic that I couldn’t remain consistent with them, and I even ended up reverting back to a lot of my bad habits.
This book taught me that self-development and growth really isn’t about making big spectacle changes, it’s about coming up with systems that ultimately reinforce an identity of your choice so that you become someone who is forever getting better and improving. In other words, the book taught me it’s not enough to have goals and reach them, it’s about becoming a person that would embody the character traits of an ideal person of your choice. I guess the best way to phrase it would be that it’s about changing your identity.
I would recommend this book to literally everyone because we should all be striving to get better day by day. However, if I were to be more specific, I think the book is perfect for people who know they want to make a change in their life but lack the motivation or knowledge on how to create that change. Also, this book doesn’t just offer advice, it offers practical tools and resources on how you can become the person you want to be through small daily changes.
